BAYRAKLI HIGH SCHOOL


Our school, which is a partner institution in this project, is situated in İzmir, the third biggest city of Turkey. Our school is located in Bayraklı  ,which is also by the Aegean Sea. .However, Bayraklı is a disadvantaged area of İzmir. The income of parents is below average and unemployment is widespread. Consequently, the needs of pupils are versatile. These needs can be grouped as economic, social and academic. The majority of the population in this area have migrated from rural Turkey.
In our school we have 65 teachers and about 1350  students, ranging in age from 14  to 19. We have also students with learning difficulties and disabilities. We pay special attention to these students providing them an individual education programme.
